kr\u00e6ver j\u00e6vnstr\u00f8m (DC), som langt de fleste moderne LED-produkter g\u00f8r.\u00a0Transformatorer anvendes ofte i \u00e6ldre belysningssystemer, is\u00e6r i forbindelse med lavvolt Den best\u00e5r typisk af to kobbertr\u00e5ds viklinger (prim\u00e6r og sekund\u00e6r) omkring en jernkerne. N\u00e5r vekselstr\u00f8m l\u00f8ber igennem den prim\u00e6re vikling, opst\u00e5r der et magnetfelt, som inducerer en tilsvarende sp\u00e6nding i den sekund\u00e6re vikling \u2013 dog med et \u00e6ndret sp\u00e6ndings niveau. Denne type kaldes ogs\u00e5 mekanisk trafo, eller jernkerne transformator ud fra dem konstruktion.<\/p><p data-start=\"1090\" data-end=\"1099\"><strong>Eksempel:<\/strong><\/p><ul><li data-start=\"1102\" data-end=\"1144\"><strong data-start=\"1102\" data-end=\"1114\">Indgang:<\/strong> 230V AC (fra stikkontakten)<\/li><li data-start=\"1147\" data-end=\"1203\"><strong data-start=\"1147\" data-end=\"1158\">Udgang:<\/strong> 12V AC (lavsp\u00e6nding til f.eks. halogenp\u00e6rer)<\/li><\/ul><p data-start=\"1205\" data-end=\"1357\">Transformatoren \u00e6ndrer kun sp\u00e6ndingsniveauet. Den konverterer AC til AC \u2013 og er dermed uegnet til enheder, der kr\u00e6ver DC. Den st\u00f8rste fordel ved denne type transformator, er at de holder n\u00e6sten evigt, da de ikke indeholder elektronisk komponenter, men udelukkende er mekanisk. Den mekaniske som er baseret p\u00e5 passive komponenter (spole og jernkerne), og den elektroniske, som er basseret p\u00e5\u00a0 aktive elektroniske komponenter.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-3d0c213 elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"3d0c213\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<h3 data-start=\"1486\" data-end=\"1534\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Klassisk_magnetisk_transformator\"><\/span><strong data-start=\"1494\" data-end=\"1532\">Klassisk (magnetisk) transformator<\/strong><span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3><p data-start=\"1535\" data-end=\"1791\">Denne type bruger en tung jernkerne og kobberviklinger. Den er robust, p\u00e5lidelig og holder ofte i mange \u00e5r.
